Donated Fire Gear finally arrives in San Clemente Ecuador

This is another post about life in San Clemente Ecuador.

While returning from the Galapagos, I was finally able to retrieve the fire bunker gear that was donated by Timberline Fire Protection District & Nederland Fire Protection District!

It was a process that took 16 months from start to finish.

The two fire departments donated the gear, local companies and private citizens donated money for the shipping of the equipment from Denver Colorado area to San Clemente Manabi Ecuador.

This project could not have been completed without massive time and energy from many people:

I will try to name as many as I can here:

Timberline Fire Protection District

Nederland Fire Protection District

San Clemente EC Fire Department

Bahia de Caraquez EC Fire Department

The MountainEar Newspaper

Tundra Specialties

Lisa Campbell, Chip Smith, Libby Rush, David Hitchcock, Cynthia Martinian, Jody Hall, Brent & Jennifer Deiley, Keith & Becky Williams, John & Mary Macdonald, Eida Galud Espinoza Villamar, Andre Clemente, Dan Debbs, the people of San Clemente for helping with Raffes and Bingo fundraisers, the gringo community in san Jacinto & San Clemente, many San Clemente Firefighters and MANY others that I am doing a huge disservice to by not mentioning their names (sorry, I cant remember everyone).

At many times, I thought that I was not going to be able to finish this project, but I stuck with it and came up with solutions.

Thanks to everyone who backed me up during this process.  And to the “nae-sayers”:  Nanny nanny boo boo!  Jaja, just having fun with it!

Ok, now on to the fun stuff!!  Pictures and video!!
