I was invited to the San Clemente Fire Department Inauguration. It turns out, the fire department building has not been around that long. They are in the process of building it.
At this ceremony, many awards were given out as well.
Personnel were promoted, and members of the community who have helped out were awarded with a Fire Department pin.
This is where all the highs up sat during the ceremony.
The head guy here in San Clemente being promoted.
The local people who have helped out. This is my friend Mirella.
A “Thank You” to the Fire Chief from Bahia from Eida from San Clemente.
Another local helper.
I received one as well, but was not able to photograph myself receiving it.
The local priest said a prayer and a blessing.
He then proceeded to bless the equipment and building. The Fire Chief ran across the street to a local house, plucked a hibiscus flower from the fence and gave it to the priest to dip in the holy water to shake the water.
More holy water.
The ribbon cutting ceremony.
Several people were handed the cuttings.
I had to take a picture of the people taking the pictures, its always fun to do.
Group shot. Notice the Reina de San Clemente in the middle and the Reina de Sucre Canton on the left side.
Here is the boat that the minister of tourism donated to San Clemente.
One day we will get it out, but it currently sits in the firehouse, 1 mile from the beach, without a trailer.
Another project for another day.
If you have seen write ups of other festivals, you will know that they fed everyone in attendance as normal.
Figuring it out… 1 ceremony at a time.
