The sea level will be BELOW sea level tonight at 11:36pm

I was puzzled by the information that the sea level will be -0.03 meters tonight.

I don’t think I’m going to panic or anything, but that is quite odd news to me, a mountain dude, to hear the sea level will be below sea level.

Is anyone else’s earth shaking at this news?  Haha

The high tide is at 5:57 am tomorrow morning with a height of 2.87 meters.   This is a pretty high level, so there is a large distance between high and low tide tonight.

Below is the link to the tide chart I use here in San Clemente.

This is the farthest out I remember seeing the water level.

Figuring it out… 1 “below sea level” moment at a time

  1. It is High Tide…ah..er..Time.. you stop alerting me to something I don’t
know what to do with…….oh, never mind, I’ll ask De!

  2. here on the cameroneras, they call the extra-high/low tides (spring tides) an aguaje which happen during full and new moons.. this month’s ‘very-full’ moon – at perigree- is responsible for the high/low tides. this comes into inbox once a week and keeps me informed on what’s happeneing in our skies, which of course affects our oceans!

usually the strongest high/low tides are during the equinox periods, especially march. it’s fun to explore the beach on the lowest tide of the year.. many people gather oysters which are exposed now, but usualLy under water.

have fun on the beach HOY!
