Well, the first installment of “Libby’s English Class” has been completed. We offered an 8 week course in Basic Beginner English. Many of the children knew about 1/2 of the subject matter from their classes in school, but this was a first time for the adults. It was fun having both children and adults in the same class.
Last Tuesday finished the 8 week course. For the final class we had a few new lessons:
Gerri’s Bingo game was a big hit.
Guest teachers John and Mary teaching everyone the Hokey Pokey.
Fernanda has her hand up!!
(I love the symbolic arrow pointing to her in this photograph. Her bookbag strap folded just the right way for this shot.)
We had a graduation party with snacks and diplomas!
(Sadly, Elida was not present for this class.)
Mirella cutting the cake.
Enjoying the grub!
Kids and cake, gotta love it. I sure did love the cake.

We had a great time conducting this class. It was a fair amount of work, lots of fun and a great way to help out and meet some local San Clemente folk. Libby, Gerri and I also learned a bunch of Spanish as we were teaching. We will take a 1 week break and start up again with an intermediate class.
Figuring it out… 1 class at a time
