Want palmas de coco in your yard? Here’s how:

We installed 6 palmas de coco trees (coconut trees) in the yard. We went to a tienda between Rocafuerte and Portoviejo and negotiated a price. Part of the negotiation was picking out which trees Gary liked best from the yard behind the tienda. After the deal was made, we all sat down with a fresh coconut cut open enough to put a straw in it and drink the fresh cold liquid. Yum.
The very next day, the crew arrived to install the trees. Within 24 hours of agreeing on a price, the trees were dug up, delivered, new holes dug and the trees were uprighted and filled with dirt.

Of course, in true Ecuadorian fashion, I was talked into / persuaded to buy the crew lunch.  We all ate at the restaurant behind the house and had a great meal.

Cheers to beautiful palm trees!!

Figuring it out
